For some reason the trail along the beach that I submited for Joseph Whidbey State Park shows at .02 and .05 zoom but not at .03 in TOPO. It disappears at that level. This is on my computer. I haven't checked it in the unit yet. I checked some other recently added trails in topo and they did not seem to have the same problem.

I am unable to repro this and it sounds like an instance of map caching in MapSource - i.e. you are seeing an old version of the the tile that MapSource holds onto to speed up performance.  You can try clearing out your map cache to see if this clears up the issue.  For MapSource, the cache is usually located at:

<User Folder>\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\MapSource\TileCache\

For BaseCamp, the cache is located at:

<User Folder>\AppData\Local\Garmin\BaseCamp\TileCache\

Here is an odd one..  Look at Mt. Si (N47 29.976 W121 44.423)  There seems to be a "line" which really looks like two different maps were joined together..  One side has more detailed Topo lines than the other.  I noticed this in MapSource v6.15.5, with Topo Maps v0.07..

Also, using the regular NW trails map (v1.59) with Mapsource I see the peak markers, but when I look at the map in my Garmin GPS 60Cx, they didn't transfer over..  Do I need to do something special to transfer the peaks over as well?

Thanks

That is in fact where two map tiles meet (you can tell by selecting the map selection tool and hovering over or clicking on the map).  The gapping seems to be an unfortunate and "unfixable" issue with custom maps.

It looks like I made a mistake with the contour interval in that part of the map.  I'll correct it for the next release.

As for mountain peaks, they are not included in Northwest Trails (short of a select few).  They are part of Northwest Topos.  However, I have the Haystack on top of Mount Si as one of those select few.

Ok thanks..

I do kind of like the 20ft contour intervals..  I hope you are switching to those instead of the 40ft..

As for the peaks, the Mt. Si haystack peak which you have marked in Mapsource doesn't show up on my GPS..  Should it?  I am just wondering if there is a special GPS setting, or is it a mapsource only item?

Thanks again..

Actually, that I'm going with 40 foot intervals in that area.  I am trying to match the intervals that the USGS uses on the corresponding 7.5 minute maps.

The Haystack shows up in Northwest Topos and Northwest Trails.  The actual Mt. Si summit is a little further north and only appears in Northwest Topos.  This is on both the GPS and in MapSource.

Hi Jon - "Mystery Hill (Unofficial), 1358 ft" should be 448x, since it's in the middle of the 4480 contour. Looks like another metric/American units thing.

Thanks; the elevation issues stem from my conversion to a new tool for compiling the map files (Global Mapper rather than GPSMapImage).  If no units are specified for the elevation in a waypoint, it is automatically taking them to be feet.  I've now made sure that units are applied to all of the waypoints in the database.
