This morning while making some minor adjustments to the forums, the database crashed and we lost 4 months of messages. I guess that will teach me to backup everything before making any changes in the future. Apologies for all of the accounts that were lost in addition to the messages.

It sucks when you lose data on a forum. I know what it's like. I have a forum but I use yabb. It's a flat file system and even if the forum crashes, your backup is essentially specific files on the server. So long as those aren't corrupted, you can easily reinstall yabb and then drop those files in the right spots and have your forum back. When a database crashes, ouch.
