New user here - love this maps so far. I am still new to handheld GPS in general, but is there a way to program the GPS to 'follow' a given trail these maps provide? I don't see the ability in MapSource to select a trail and make a 'route' out of it.

There is no data in the mapset that can be used to route along a trail like the autorouting that can be done with road maps.  What you can do is manually enter waypoints along the trail(s).  Or use MapSource's Route Tool to do the same thing - which can also be loaded as a Route in the GPSr, which can then be followed.

The best way to use waypoints on a route, is to set the waypoint a short way beyond the trail intersection, so that the arrow points the correct way at that intersection.  Otherwise you need to zoom in/out to figure out which trail to take.  This can be used on non-autorouting units for road travel.
